| What is Pilates? |
Pilates is a technique invented some 70 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates. Pilates is a body conditioning method that works
in a different way to other fitness techniques. Targeting the deep postural muscles, pilates works by building strength from
the inside out, rebalancing the body
and bringing it into correct alignment. It helps to reshape your body, which will become longer, leaner and more toned. It will also improve
your posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and
flexibility, and it is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.
Pilates involves concentration and the co-ordination of breath and movement, thereby helping to balance mind and body. Its

There is no bouncing, jarring, or stress to your body, so pilates offers the ideal form of exercise for people who, because of joint pain or muscle weakness, shy away from exercise. So from the young to the old, the weak to the strong pilates is a fantastic way of balancing the mind and the body.
